About Us
Mission
:
The Mission of Darshan College is succinctly expressed
in the motto: jnanenaiva vimuktih: “Indeed
Liberation is through enlightenment”.
As the temporal, mundane existence is characterized by
duhkha ( as we find in the teachings of Buddha), the
eminent sages and prophets have propagated means to
alleviate oneself from negative experiences of human
existence, and fill life with hope and joy.
Darshan College takes upon itself the task of
facilitating growth in human personality and make life
meaningful and hopeful to every one who approaches this
temple of learning. For this purpose all academic
engagement is integrated with experiential knowledge at
Darshan College.
Objectives
-
To
promote human personalities who will face the
challenges of life with courage and hope.
-
To enlighten through
academic in-puts and practical engagements the
meaning and purpose of human existence.
-
To help students to
discover and discern the possibilities of social
engagements with humanitarian perspectives.
-
To empower them to
strive after meaningful life-goals with zeal and
courage.
-
To create a positive
vision of life that inspires them to aspire for a
deeper consciousness of welfare of all beings.
-
To inculcate
perspectives which strengthen interrelationships and
enhance respect and reverence towards others.
-
To create a
‘world-view’ that embraces all cultures and belief
structures without losing one’s own self identity.

Jnanenaiva
Vimktih, Indeed The liberation is through enlightenment
(knowledge) is the motto of Darshan College. The College
aims at holistic liberation through true knowledge which
is intuitive and experiential and hence characterized as
‘enlightenment’ in the Yoga tradition in India.
There are two human figures of two different sizes. Both
figures have raised their hands expressing the fullness
of Joy or bliss (ananda), characterizing the state of a
liberated person.
The two figures of different size represent mutual
dependency – one depends on another for growth.
Counsiling is the best form of guru-shishya
relationship.
Both mutually collaborate to reach the human destiny.
Both are in the world represented by the globe. Both
co-operate to face the challenges of the World in the
process of self-realisation. |
