Prelude
Darshan College & Research Institute established in the
year 2002 and situated along the Mysore Road in Kengeri,
promotes higher learning in humanities and strives to
create a society where people have actualized most of
their human and epistemic potentialities.
Darshan College & Research Institute, Bangalore offers
Masters degree and Doctoral programmes in theology and
religious Studies, a post graduate diploma course in
psychological counselling and other short term courses
in areas like human resource development, spirituality
and educational counselling. It has a cell in
Inter-religious dialogue under the auspices of which it
conducts programmes aimed at creating harmony and peace
among the world religions.

The Mission of Darshan College is
succinctly expressed in the motto: jñanenaiva vimuktih:
“Indeed Liberation is through enlightenment”.
As the temporal, mundane existence is characterized by
duhkha ( as we find in the teachings of Buddha), the
eminent sages and prophets have propagated means to
alleviate oneself from negative experiences of human
existence, and fill life with hope and joy.
Darshan College takes upon itself the task of facilitating growth
in human personality and make life meaningful and
hopeful to every one who approaches this temple of
learning. For this purpose all academic engagement is
integrated with experiential knowledge at Darshan College.

Rai University
International
Darshan College is a facilitation center of Rai University
International (RUI) for M.A. and PHD Degree Courses in
Theology. The RUI is registered in Delaware U.S.A. and
promotes quality education of international standard.
The degrees awarded by RUI are recognized
internationally. They have same validity as any degree
secured from any University in USA. But the Degrees are
not recognized at present by UGC in India. For further

Directorate of Distance
Learning.
Directorate of Distance Learning (DDL) is the Office of
RUI in New Delhi which carries out all the academic
obligations of RUI for Indian Students. The students
therefore should do all the payments to the University
through DDL account. All the DDs are therefore drawn in
favour of Directorate of Distance Learning payable at
New Delhi.

M.A. Degree Course in
Theology.
The Darshan College organizes M.A. Degree Course in Theology
under Distance Learning scheme by providing well
prepared Lessons under each paper. The Questions
provided under each lesson are to be answered within the
time period allotted for it. These assignments carry 40%
of marks. The annual written examination carries
remaining 60% of marks.

Online facilities.
The registered students can obtain the lessons through
online facility provided by the University. The details
of obtaining lessons through online will be made known
to students.

Examination
The examinations will be conducted at Darshan College,
Bangalore. More centres of Examinations will be
established depending on the number of students
registered for M.A. Degree Course. The dates of the
examination will be made known to the students well in
advance.

Curriculum :
The curriculum of M. A. Degree Course in Theology will
consist of Eight papers. Students can answer four papers
during the first year and remaining four during the
second year. Except the first two all other papers will
have options.
