The College is also actively involved in community development, research and intervention in disaster management programmes. In collaboration with Center for Psychological Counselling, Department of Psychology, Bangalore University, the College has implemented a four month project entitled ‘Quality of life after tsunami in India: Need assessment and intervention programme. The focus of the programme was to empower the tsunami survivors to cope with the severe loss they had experienced by helping them adopt healthy coping styles.
Darshan College is also involved in the International Conference and TOT- disaster management and Trauma Counseling along with Bangalore University.
Other than this the Students of PGPC conduct a research on different arenas of life. Instead working on the sophisticated issues, the students are willing and daring to work with real issues of the society. Students are working with HIV infected and affected, Leprosy patients, Sex Workers, Female Prisoners, Unwed Mothers, Gypsies, Family issues, Class room issues, Interpersonal relationship among Call Center employees etc.
