Savithribai Pule’s Birthday Celebration @ Darshan College
Knowledge is like a fire. Which must first be kindled by some external agent, but will afterwards always propagate itself. January 3 marks the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule. She was known for her contribution in the field of women’s education and pioneering the women’s rights movement in India way before it became the norm. 15 Government School kids from in and around the neighborhood of Aurad (B) Village, Kalaburgi, Karnataka were encouraged to pursue education in spite of all odds. The details about the Important contributions made by Savithri Bai Phule for the upliftment of Women’s Education were briefed to them. Later, distribution of Books from Darshan College to the students was organized. A pledge to be educated and also to motivate others to be literates and end the misery of the oppressed and forsaken was taken during the event.
