Independence Day at Darshan College
Theme for this year's Independence Day
celebration is “Nation First, Always
First,” an integral part of the broader
“Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” Celebration.
The 77th Independence Day is a
significant milestone for India. It is a
time to reflect on the country’s journey
since independence and to recommit to
the values of freedom, democracy, and
equality. It is also a time to celebrate
the diversity and unity of the Indian
nation. Darshan College celebrated the
77th Independence Day with great pride
and enthusiasm.
This auspicious Independence Day program
started with flag waving ceremony as a
tribute to our motherland. Director,
Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D’Souza, Asst.
Director, Rev.Fr. Roshan Rosario, Rev.
Fr. Joy D’Souza, Principal Darshan
College, Rev. Fr. Clement D’Souza,
Academic Co-coordinator St. Anthony’s
Institutions, Naib Subedar Narendra
Kumar, Naib Subedar Sankar Singh and
Associate NCC Officer Lt. Deepa. M,
hoisted the national flag which was
followed by the National Anthem.
Everyone saluting the National flag
created a Patriotic ambiance on the
premises. Later there was march past
Parade led by NCC Cadet. The colorful
cultural program started with Dance
performance on Patriotic songs, students
delivered speech on freedom fighters who
gave their lives and made great
sacrifices to make India an Independent
country. The program concluded by
Director’s Speech followed by vote of
thanks. All the students, faculty and
staff were given sweets and snacks after
the program.
