The Anti-Ragging seminar at Darshan
College
The Anti-Ragging Cell organized a
seminar titled "Bullying, Ragging, and
Its Emotional Trauma on Young Minds" on
April 23, 2024, in the college
auditorium. The seminar was conducted by
Dr. Asha C.S, a Counselor and
Psychiatrist from Rajarajeshwari Medical
College and Hospital. The discussion
encompassed topics such as ragging, its
effects, potential punishments, and
health impacts. Emphasizing ragging as a
criminal act, the event underscored the
importance of fostering a friendly
atmosphere between seniors and juniors.
Victims of ragging often endure both
physical and mental distress. Therefore,
efforts to mitigate it should include
raising awareness, providing counseling
or mentorship, and implementing other
safety measures on campus. All students
pledged not to engage in ragging and not
to tolerate being ragged.
