REPORT ON TREKKING CAMP: 3KAR BN:
DARSHAN COLLEGE
The NCC Department orchestrated a "One
Day Trekking Camp" in Tumkuru on April
13, 2024, fostering an invigorating and
positive atmosphere where cadets could
cultivate confidence and bolster
self-esteem. Twenty-four cadets,
accompanied by an ANO (Associate NCC
Officer), enthusiastically participated
in this adventure.
Embarking from the college premises at
7:00 a.m. via college bus, the cadets
indulged in singing and dancing during
the journey. Upon reaching Channarayana
Durga village at 9:45 a.m., they
relished a picturesque breakfast amidst
the village scenery.
To guide and inspire the cadets, NCC
seniors Mr. Keerthi, Mr. Pasha, and
volunteers from Tumkur youth hikers were
present. Commencing at 10:15 a.m., the
trek commenced from the foothills,
leading to the initial level of the
fort. The cadets embarked on the journey
with fervor, traversing the primary
streets of Channarayana Durga village.
Channarayana Durga, a captivating day
trek, offered stunning vistas and an
exhilarating hiking experience for the
cadets, with rock formations resembling
cracks showcasing geological wonders.
Amidst the ascent, the cadets captured
memories through photographs and reveled
in the fort's panoramic views. Upon
reaching the summit, they beheld other
forts and hills in the distance.
Descending, Mr. Keerthi provided
guidance, sharing his NCC experiences
and imparting valuable life lessons to
the cadets. The trek concluded at 1:30
p.m., leaving behind cherished memories.
Following a refreshing break, the cadets
convened for lunch at 2:00 p.m. near Sri
Bailanjaneya Swami Temple. Senior
volunteers then invigorated the cadets
with engaging activities.
At 3:00 p.m., an impromptu visit to "Naamadha
Chilume" ensued, sparking excitement
among the cadets upon encountering wild
animals at the entrance. They explored
the spiritual site before engaging in a
feedback session led by Mr. Keerthi,
where they shared their trekking
experiences. The day culminated with a
group photo at Naamadha Chilume, marking
the end of a memorable expedition.
