The NSS Day celebration commenced with a warm and enthusiastic welcome of our esteemed dignitaries Rev.Fr.Roshan Rosario Principal, St.Anthony’s PU College, Rev.Fr. Joy D’Souza Principal, St.Anthony’s College, NSS Program officer Prof. Balkhis ,NSS Asst co-ordinator Dr. Santhosh by the NSS Volunteers. The program began with the flag hoisting ceremony where NSS flag was hoisted in front of the college premises, symbolizing the spirit of nationalism and community service. Following the flag hosting ceremony, NSS volunteers sang the NSS anthem, reaffirming their commitment to the ideals of community service and social responsibility. This was followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, further instilling a sense of patriotism and unity among the gathering.
The program started by welcoming the dignitaries by NSS volunteer Monisha C. NSS volunteer Stephia and Reema delivered an insightful presentation highlighting the importance of National Service Scheme (NSS). A motivational NSS video was screened to inspire and motivate the first-year NSS volunteers. The video showcased the impactful initiatives, community service projects, and transformative experiences of NSS volunteers across the country. Rev.Fr. Joy D’Souza addressed the gathering, motivating everyone to participate enthusiastically in NSS activities The principal encouraged the volunteers to Actively engage in community service projects, Develop leadership skills through NSS initiatives, Foster national integration and social harmony.
Inspired by Principal’s motivational speech on NSS, our NSS volunteers proceeded to conduct a cleanliness drive, “Shramadaana”, at Deena Seva Ashrama. Volunteers removed weeds and debris from flower beds and paths, trimming, watering the plants. This Shramadaana initiative not only beautified our surroundings but also fostered community engagement, teamwork, and social responsibility among NSS volunteers.
