Freshers' Day is the ultimate celebration of new beginnings, where students embark on their college adventure with excitement and anticipation. This year, St. Anthony's Institution hosted an unforgettable Freshers' Day on September 28th, themed "IGNITE," providing an ideal platform for new students to connect, engage, and immerse themselves in the vibrant spirit of the institution.
The celebration commenced with a beautiful prayer song by Mathew and his team, setting a joyful tone for the day. Rev. Fr. Robin D'Souza, Director of St. Anthony's Institution; Rev. Fr. Joy D'Souza, Principal of St. Anthony's College; and Rev. Fr. Vijesh Loyed Menezes, Treasurer of the Karnataka Capuchin Province, inaugurated the event by lighting a ceremonial lamp, accompanied by the Heads of Departments from Commerce, Management, and Computer Applications, as well as two student representatives. In his inspiring address, the Principal shared a powerful moral about the story of the kite and balloon, emphasizing that true success is rooted in inner strength and balance, rather than outward appearances.
The Investiture Ceremony was a pivotal highlight of IGNITE 2024, showcasing the participation and oath-taking of class representatives across various domains, including Academics, Sports, Culture, Social Media, and the Placement Cell. This demonstrated their commitment to leadership and service within the college community.
A significant milestone was reached with the unveiling of the institution's newsletter by Rev. Fr. Robin Victor D'Souza, which encapsulates the vibrant culture, exciting events, and notable achievements of St. Anthony's. He delivered an inspirational message, encouraging students to embrace the theme "IGNITE" by focusing their energy and creativity toward positive outcomes in life.
The atmosphere was further elevated by captivating dance performances from senior students, and the BBA students organized engaging games for the freshers, adding an element of fun and camaraderie. Fr. Vijesh Loyed Menezes honored students for their cultural excellence with certificates and medals. The announcement of Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher was met with applause as they were presented with elegant sashes and thoughtful gifts. The seniors' dynamic performances contributed to the festive spirit, making the event truly memorable.
The celebration radiated joy and positivity, with students expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Principal, Management, and organizing committee for creating lifelong memories. The event was seamlessly hosted by Prity and Perius, while Anushree warmly welcomed attendees, and Monika acknowledged everyone’s contributions to making the day a success. Freshers received surprise gifts, adding a special touch to their experience, along with delicious food to savor. As the program concluded with the national anthem, a sense of respect and unity filled the atmosphere, marking the end of a remarkable day dedicated to new beginnings at St. Anthony's Institution.
