St. Anthony’s College-Wellness Checkup
Drive
“You can’t enjoy wealth if you are
not in good health.”
Good health is central to human
happiness and well-being. It contributes
significantly to prosperity, wealth, and
even economic progress. Health is the
foundation that enables a person to
perform daily life tasks effectively and
efficiently. Health consciousness is
especially important in the lives of
students, as it helps them improve and
preserve their well-being, avoid
illness, and reduce risky behaviors.
Recognizing the importance of good
health, the NSS Unit, Women Cell, and
Red Cross Unit of St. Anthony's College,
Bangalore, organized a Health Checkup
Drive in collaboration with Narayana
Hrudayalaya on the occasion of World
Health Day, held on 9th April 2025 at
Pace Bene Hall.
The event was inaugurated by Rev. Fr.
Joy Dsouza, Principal of St. Anthony's
College, who emphasized the importance
of health in our lives and encouraged
students and staff to make the best use
of the available facilities.
The team from Narayana Hrudayalaya
conducted comprehensive health checkups
for both students and staff. The checkup
included Body Mass Index (BMI)
measurement, Random Blood Sugar Test,
Electrocardiogram (ECG), and Doctor
Consultation. A total of 38 teaching and
non-teaching staff members and 63
students availed themselves of these
services, consulting with the doctor and
receiving personalized health advice
based on their reports.
Prof. Balkhis (NSS Coordinator), Prof.
Molly Dsouza (Women Cell Coordinator),
and Prof. Leelavathi Chivate (Red Cross
Unit Coordinator) played key roles in
the smooth and successful execution of
the program.
As a token of appreciation, Rev. Fr.
Robin Victor Dsouza presented a memento
to Dr. Promod, General Physician,
thanking him for his valuable service.
The event was further supported by
enthusiastic participation and
leadership from NSS volunteers, Women
Cell representatives, and Red Cross
volunteers, who assisted the medical
team throughout the checkup process.
