Graduation Day @ Darshan College
‘The beautiful thing about
learning is that no one can take it away from
you’ – B. B. King. To bestow the
Bachelors degree to the students the 3rd
Graduation day was organized at Darshan College.
The celebrations started with the academic
procession led by Rev. Fr. George Monis,
Principal, Darshan College, as the bearer of the
Mace, along with the dignitaries namely, Prof. K
R Venugopal, Honourable Vice Chancellor,
Bengaluru university; Prof. M J Vinod, Dean,
Department of Political Science, Bengaluru
University; Dr. Srinivasa R, Principal and NSS
Officer, UCPE, Bengaluru University; Rev. Dr.
Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais, Provincial Minister,
Holy Trinity Province Karnataka and President of
Capuchin Education Board; Rev. Dr. Fr. Alwyn
Dias, Director of St. Anthony’s Institutions;
Rev. Fr. Roshan Rosario, Principal of St.
Anthony’s PU College and Rev. Fr. Joy Wilson
D’Souza, Co-Ordinator, PU Science Department,
and the HODs of B.Com, BBA and BCA. All were
ushered with the accompaniment of the college
band into the venue of the function. The
dignitaries adorned the dais and after the
customary invocation song, the Principal Rev.
Fr. George Monis welcomed all the dignitaries,
graduands, invitees, faculty and parents. After
the bestowal of degrees, the publication of the
Doctoral thesis of Rev. Dr. Fr. Alwyn Dias was
released. The Vice Chancellor, in his graduation
day address offered valuable suggestions to the
students: to develop skills, to innovate and not
be the victims of alcohol, tobacco and drugs.
The Presidential address was delivered by Rev.
Dr. Fr. Joseph Dolphy Pais. He congratulated all
the graduates for their successful journey. He
said Knowledge is power then continuing, spoke
of 4Ps to success - Purpose, Perspective,
Productivity and Persistence. In this ceremony,
36 students from various streams of Commerce and
Management received their degrees. The future
belongs to those who believe in the beauty of
their dreams.
