Debate Competition @ Darshan College, Kengeri, Bangalore.
“For good ideas and true innovation, you need human interaction, conflict, argument, debate”. With this objective in mind, Darshan College organized a debate competition on the following two topics – ‘Will Cashless Economy Survive in Indian Context’ and ‘Has the usage of Cell phones at workplace affecting the performance of the employees’. The Students strongly voiced out their stance either ‘for’ or ‘against’ being rational at the same time critical. Prof. Jayamahadeva Swamy moderated the sessions with great discretion. Mrs. Josheela D Souza, Associate Manager, Deutsche Bank and Mrs. Priyadarshini V, Assistant Manager, Accenture, adjudged the various views presented by the students and declared the winners based on the thought provoking points, facts and figures gathered and their involvement in the debate. It was indeed a meaningful, enriching debate, as in the words of Joseph Joubert “It is better to debate a question without settling it, than to settle a question without debating it”!
