Inauguration of NSS & Red Cross Units @ Darshan
College

immortal.” Darshan College strives to
inculcate the sense of service in the minds of
students through National Service Scheme (NSS).
The inaugural function of NSS for the year
2019-2020 was chaired by Rev. Fr Roshan Rosario,
Director, St Anthony’s Institutions in the
gracious presence of Rev. Fr Joy D’Souza,
Principal, Darshan College, Management, Faculty
and Students. The Chief Guest for the function
was Dr. Poornima Jogi, NSS Implementation
Officer, State NSS Cell, Government of
Karnataka. The NSS and Red Cross Units of
Darshan College for 2019-20 were inaugurated on
03 Aug 2019. The students performed
environmental awareness dance on pollution
control. The Chief Guest highlighted the
importance of NSS in the life of an individual
as well as in the society. The programme was
concluded with NSS Anthem followed by planting
of saplings by the Chief Guest. ‘The best way
to find yourself is to lose yourself in the
service of others’ – Mahatma Gandhi.
