Teachers as Mentors: A day to express gratitude "A teacher's purpose is not to create
students in his own image, but to develop
students who can create their own image." – Apt
to this wisdom the vocation of every Teacher was
recalled and reproclaimed at St. Anthony’s &Darshan
College. Truly the vocation of a teacher is to
guide, to lead, to create, to mould and to mend
student’s inner person and personality. For the
immense contribution from the teachers who are
indeed the mentors in the wholistic development
of the students, the Anthonians came forward to
express their gratitude through a well organized
innovative programme. Whole day was dedicated to
the teachers as they play a prominent role in
the life of the students guiding and leading
them on the true path of success, and imparting
them the real knowledge. The creative and
innovative ways of celebrating the Teacher’s day
marked the celebration with a “Go green
campaign”! The Director, Rev. Fr. Alwyn Dias,
addressed the students with a motivational talk
on what brings joy and glory to the teachers.
It’s nothing but the discipline, dedication and
determination, he said. He asserted that the
Faculty at St. Anthony’s and Darshan College
works not just as your teachers of the classroom
but as your life mentors, who will bring out the
best in you so that you are made “capable,
confident and credible”! That’s the vision and
mission of our institution he proclaimed!
