Covid-19 Medical Camp @
Darshan College “Health
is wealth as we all know; Hygiene is the way to
make it grow. Actions are little in to and fro,
but we have to go with the flow”. Health
is given the highest importance in the life of a
human person. Each individual makes every effort
to maintain ones health. As notified by the
State Government and Bangalore University
regarding opening of the Degree Colleges from
17th November onwards, Darshan College in
collaboration with BBMP organized a Covid-19
Medical Camp for the Degree students on 13th
November, Friday. Our College had a huge
response as 190 students along with the
Management, Faculty and Domestic staff got
tested. The Medical team carried out this
Covid-19 RT-PCR Test free of charge. In a couple
of days, all experienced a sigh of relief as all
were tested negative. To keep the body in
good health is a duty… otherwise we shall not be
able to keep our mind strong and clear.
Farewell Programme @

beginning has an end and every end is a new
beginning. A year starts, a year ends; only
to give birth to another. The Faculty along with
a few Degree students organized a befitting
Farewell programme to the Final Year Students.
It was not a day to bid farewell but to cherish
all the beautiful memories shared together in

sparks for their future betterment. The final

added flavour to the celebration. The two
hardest things to say in life are hello for the
first time and good-bye for the last.
Fit India Run @ Darshan
College Take
care of your body. It’s the only place you have
to live in. Physical fitness is not only
one of the most important keys to a healthy body
but also the basis of dynamic and creative
intellectual activity. In order to motivate the
individuals regarding cultivating the habit of
physical fitness, the Department of Physical
Education of Darshan College organized Fit India
Campaign in collaboration with IQAC, NCC, NSS
and Red Cross units. Fit India Run helps us to
boost our fitness and remain free from all
physical and mental restraints. The College
students of different units along with the
Degree Faculty went jogging within the campus
and around the vicinity for about 3 kilometres
to create awareness among the people regarding
physical fitness. We need to consider using
physical activity and exercise as a strategy to
maintain health during this stressful period.
Fit is not a destination; it is a way of life.

better world. In response to this call
for action, Darshan College and St Anthony’s PU

Greater Bangalore metropolitan area. Nearly 120
BBMP workers in and around Kengeri zone were the
beneficiaries of the Covid-19 relief material.
A Day Out @ Darshan
College A
journey is best measured in friends and family
rather than miles. According to experts,
trips not only help to get relaxation from
regular chores but also helps in increasing
self-dependence, enhancing creativity, boosts
confidence and increase the sociability of
individuals. With a view to leave the footprints
and cherish long lasting memories, Darshan
college had organized trip exclusively for the
Final year students to the ‘Adventurous town’
Dandeli, Yana- which is a place of tourist
interest because of its unique karst rock
formation and to Coastal Karnataka. Our visit
was not only restricted to the adventurous
activities but also included visit to shrines.
In this regard, students were also taken to Our
Lady of Fathima Church, Perampalli and Udupi
Shri Krishna Mutt. There was also a part for
enjoyment and exclusive excitement in Malpe and
Panambur beaches. Our memories are the only
paradise from which we can never be expelled.
Creating memories is a priceless gift.
Industrial Visit by
Darshanites Confidence…
thrives on Honesty, on Honour, on the Sacredness
of obligations, on faithful protection and on
unselfish performance. Without them it cannot
live. In order to merge theoretical
learning with practical skills, Darshan College
organized an Industrial Visit for the students
to Karnataka Milk Federation, Mysore. Mysore
Dairy is fully channelled from manual to machine
which can be called ‘Mega-Digital’. The students
were quite enthusiastic to know the
milk-processing, packaging and selling methods
together with the process of filtration and
storage; various types of milk products are
manufactured and sold to satisfy the desire of
the customers. Towards evening, visit to Balmuri
falls which is a small water cascade located at
Srirangapatna was a thrilling experience to the
group. The Students grabbed every opportunity to
experience calmness and coolness of the
water-fall by throwing themselves off in the
cascade. The only source of knowledge is
experience.
BU Level Women’s
Kabaddi Tournament @ Darshan College Kabaddi
is popular in India by its catchy slogan 'Le
Panga'. It is one of the Ancient Games of India.
Kabaddi is a sport which most of us played in
our lives. Mostly in the rural areas this sport
is very popular among the youth as well as the
adults. This is a team sport which requires a
lot of physical as well as mental toughness.
This game teaches us many things like teamwork,
discipline, physical and mental toughness,
patience, awareness of the situation and many
more things. Bangalore University level Women’s
Kabaddi tournament was organized in our
Institution in which around 22 teams from
various parts of Colleges of BU took part. It
has been a successful event in which the
Corporators, Social activists took part in large
numbers. In the era of games like Pubg, Kabaddi
was an enthralling excitement that was witnessed
by the audience enthusiastically.
Industrial Visit by
Anthonians Education
does not have to take place only in the
classroom. All the world is a laboratory
for an inquiring mind. It is rightly said that
‘observe & understand’ is better than ‘read &
learn’. In this pursuit, St Anthony’s PU College
organized a One-Day Industrial Visit to Mother
Dairy, Yelahanka, Bangalore and Britannia
Industries Ltd., Bidadi, Ramanagara. The
students got an opportunity to visit pasteurized
milk packing unit, ultra-high temperature unit,
ice-cream, paneer and flavoured milk
manufacturing units. They were quite amazed to
view the live manufacturing processes viz.,
mixing of ingredients, moulding dough and baking
of biscuits, its packaging and storage. The
students were shown different biscuit
manufacturing units like Good Day, Bourbon,
Marie, Nutri-Choice, Treat Stars etc. At the end
of the visit, the students were really zealous
to know lot many things about the dairy and
biscuit products. The best source of
knowledge is Experience.
Seminar on Gender
Issues @ Darshan College Woman
is the companion of man, gifted with equal
mental capacity. With a view to focus
the intention and motto of Gender equality and
its contribution towards Women empowerment, a
one-day Seminar on Gender Issues was held at
Darshan College. Prof. Santa Sylvia, Counsellor,
Women’s Cell, Bangalore emphasized that Gender
equality and Women empowerment are important
factors for the social and economic development
of a nation. If democracy is the fairest way to
run a country, we must have the voices of women
heard. The speaker enlightened the audience
about the importance of the role of skin in
human body and self-defensive techniques. She
spelled out a few case studies on maturity level
and decision making process. The greatest win
can be achieved at home, particularly with
primary school children, mainly helping them to
recognize the bias against girls and women
within their world of school, media and among
friends and family. There is no greater
pillar of stability than a strong, free, and
educated Woman.
Industrial Visit by
Darshanites Industry,
thrift and self-control are not sought because
they create wealth, but because they create
character. In order to merge theoretical
learning with practical skills, Darshan College
organized an Industrial Visit for the students
to Heritage Winery, Ramanagara and Toy Industry,
Channapatna, Karnataka. The students were filled
with astonishment to know the process of
wine-making which consists of fermentation from
sediments and yeast using traditional filtration
techniques. The Toy World enlightened the
students as to how the toys are manufactured and
distributed. This traditional craft is protected
as a geographical indication under the World
Trade Organization, administered by the
Government of Karnataka. As a result of the
popularity of these toys, Channapatna is known
as Gombegala Ooru (toy-town) of Karnataka.
Indeed, it’s a symbol of pure craftsmanship and
artistry. Imagination is more important than
knowledge.

Parents’ Teachers’
Meeting @ St Anthony’s PU College At
the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to
a child’s success is the positive involvement of
Parents. Keeping this conviction in
mind, the Management of St Anthony’s PU College
held Parents’ Teachers’ Meeting in the college
auditorium. This was precisely organized to
enlighten the parents regarding the academic
performance of their children and to make them
known about the Annual Examination procedure and
results. Fr Roshan, the Principal
comprehensively highlighted various curriculum
related topics. The Parents were given a glimpse
of the formation and transformation which takes
place at St Anthony’s PU College, highlighting
the various activities organized throughout the
year for the holistic growth of the students.
The response of the parents towards the meeting
was really positive and encouraging.
Education is a shared commitment between
dedicated teachers, motivated students and
enthusiastic parents with high expectations.
Science Exhibition @ St
Anthony’s PU College Every
art should become science; and every science
should become an art – Heinrich Von Schlegel.

limits to imagination.
Christmas & New Year
Celebration @ St Anthony’s Institutions Christmas
is a season not only of rejoicing but of
reflection. To celebrate and share the
joy of Christmas, Christmas celebration was held
at St Anthony’s Institutions. The spirit of
Christmas reminds everyone that we should not be
blinded by hatred, violence and injustice rather
be radiant with love, peace, joy and happiness.
The Christ-event was enacted through music,
carols, dance and tableau which gave an
expression to the human values of caring,
sharing and spreading the goodness and kindness.
The Chief Guest Rev. Fr Dancy Sunil Martis, OFM
Cap., Principal, St. Anthony’s School,
Gangondanahalli shared an inspiring Christmas
message. Jesus may not be born again
historically but he can be born again in us
through our appreciation, gentleness, support
sympathy and so on towards others. Giving gifts
is an easy task, but giving oneself to the needs
of others is a great sacrifice. No one has
become poor by giving.
